What We Actually Do

As “consultants,” we do lots of different things for different clients. Here, we’re going to outline a few working scenarios that come up as we work with businesses to improve and modernize. This is a small slice of our capabilities – what we actually do is help you identify your needs, and come up with a plan to meet them.

[accordion_content title=”Scenario One: An Outdated Website”]
In this first scenario, we have a client with a website that was designed nearly a decade ago, and hasn’t been updated since. It’s not working very well anymore, it doesn’t reflect the company’s tech-forward approach within its industry, and it certainly doesn’t showcase the company’s professionalism and dedication.

Firelight would work with this client to:[unordered_list style=”list-4″]

  • develop keywords and strengths to highlight
  • create information architecture and copy for a new website
  • install WordPress in the company’s existing web hosting
  • install themes and plugins, source graphics, and set up the new website
  • test website functionality, including browser and device compatibility
  • [/unordered_list]
Once the site was up and running, Firelight would offer the client an ongoing maintenance agreement.[/accordion_content][accordion_content title=”Scenario Two: No Web Presence Whatsoever”]
In this case, the client has zero existing web presence. Here’s how we would fix that:
    [unordered_list style=”list-4″]

  • develop keywords and key points for the company’s site to cover
  • create information architecture and copy for a new website
  • coordinate the purchase of a domain, set up hosting, install WordPress
  • install themes and plugins, source graphics, and set up the new website
  • test website functionality, including browser and device compatibility
  • [/unordered_list]
Once the site was up and running, Firelight would offer the client an ongoing maintenance agreement.[/accordion_content][accordion_content title=”Scenario Three: New Application”]
For this scenario, let’s say our client would like to get rid of his paper files, and keep all important business documentation in electronic format – but the client isn’t sure how that would work, what equipment she might need, or what it would take to convert her existing files and then get all future documents into the electronic format.

How could Firelight help? Here’s how:
    [unordered_list style=”list-4″]

  • discuss the client’s needs, goals, and limitations related to this question
  • research potential software, equipment, and best practices related to electronic filing systems
  • present options to the client
  • develop transition plan
  • implement transition plan
  • train client staff in using the new software / process
  • [/unordered_list]
After the transition process was complete, Firelight’s work would be done![/accordion_content][accordion_content title=”Scenario Four: New Tablets For Everybody!”]
Scenario four involves a potential client interested in getting all staff members working on tablets from the field. They’re looking for help finding the right technology, setting up the right working apps on each device, and making sure their staff know how to get their work done.

It’s a tall order, but the basic workflow would go like this:
    [unordered_list style=”list-4″]

  • make sure we have a crystal clear understanding of budget constraints, necessary functionality, and what exactly each team member will need to be able to accomplish
  • research devices, apps, and integrations as needed
  • produce device and app recommendations
  • craft a device and app profile based on the client’s decisions
  • coordinate device procurement, set up each device with the app profile
  • issue devices to staff as needed, including developing and maintaining inventory tracking
  • train staff as needed (including group training and individual coaching)
  • [/unordered_list]
Once the device transition was complete, Firelight would offer to train a staff member to procure and set up new devices, coordinate device repairs, or implement updates to the app profile across the company.[/accordion_content] [/accordion]
